Loved seeing Major Taylor and his achievements highlighted in the Super Bowl spot by Hennessy. Not sure what the connection is to Hennessy, but the video they produced is pretty good; his achievements remarkable.

As noted in the Chicago Sun-Times article “Taylor, born in Indianapolis in 1878, overcame racial prejudice throughout his career to become a pioneer in athletics. He was the first black athlete to win world championships in sprinting and cycling and the second black athlete to win a world championship in any sport.”

I’m ashamed to say I didn’t and still don’t know enough about Major Taylor, but I’m glad to get educated and I’m glad many more folks are as well!
